I Have a Plan. . . A Menu Plan That Is

Finally, a meal plan. No, I am not joining "Menu Plan Mondays" or anything like that (I am guessing only food blog whores** such as myself know what that is). I usually plan my meals mid- to late-week anyway. Heck, I plan them whenever I get sick of trying to think of what to cook when I get home at night. Such is the case today. Last night just to avoid such an incident we purchased a chicken meal from the deli on the way home from work. The chicken was delicious. Every once in awhile (no, it isn't once and awhile) greasy fried chicken tastes good. I sort of hate to admit that. The potato salad was not very good and the rolls were okay. That delicious, crispy, fattening, greasy, chicken skin made it all worth while.

Here is the list of meals I plan on making. (Warning: Even though I plan, it may not work out so don't get too attached to anything listed because I would hate for you to be devastated when I don't actually make the meal and therefore do not post the recipe.)
  • Enchiladas served with Black Beans
  • Spicy Shepherd's Pie served with Easy Creamy Corn
  • Chicken Cordon Bleu Bake served with a steamed vegetable
  • Chicken Tortellini Bake served with a steamed vegetable
  • Tortilla & Black Bean Bake served with Sour Cream Rice
  • Acorn Squash Bisque served with something or other
  • Twice Baked Butternut Squash served with this or that

I also have in the plan to make English Muffins, English Muffin Bread, Brown & Serve Rolls, and Grape Freezer Jam.

As mentioned in a previous post, I have meal planners to share. Each meal planner has "Meal" boxes with lines for Main Course, Recipe Location (note the blog or cookbook and page), Vegetable/Side Dish, Dessert, Notes. This meal planner has enough boxes for two weeks worth of meals. This meal planner has boxes for 1 week worth of meals and an "Ingredient List" with a section for a "Shopping List" and a "Pantry" section for noting items you have on hand. The forms I have uploaded are in PDF format. (If you don't have a PDF reader you can download Adobe Reader here.) If you are interested in receiving the form in an Excel format you can use on your computer, let me know. Here is the meal planner I completed for this week. I hope someone finds this useful.

Recently I decided that since I don't post pictures that I really don't have to wait until I cook something to post the recipe IF I have made it before. So from now on I am going to try to post some of our favorite recipes.

**Whore is not a bad word in my world. That is what the 'W' stands for in all of our names. My dear, sweet Auntie Cleaning W. started it and I now use and hear the term quite often. For example, A1 is a self-proclaimed Parade Whore and a lady at work is a self-proclaimed Coffee Whore. Of course when KLB calls me a 'Whore' it means I have been especially sassy/lippy to her--it makes me giggle every time.

Let me know if you have any problems with the forms or have any other questions.
