10 Things - April 2
- We are going on a family vacation later this month.
- We have not been on vacation since I was pregnant with Bob.
- Just in case you need reminding. . . he is 6.
- We are going to a cabin in Oregon.
- We are getting there by way of California.
- One of PE's sisters lives there.
- We are excited to see her and her family in their element.
- We will then drive up the Pacific Coast Highway.
- We will go to the beach.
- According to Bob that is what you do on vacation.

10 Things - March 5
- I am a HORRIBLE friend to all of my friends from where I use to live (45 minutes away).
- One of my friends had an adorable baby boy in May.
- I still haven't seen him. . . or even talked to her.
- HORRIBLE!
- Another of my friends moved closer to where I live and purchased a house last year.
- I haven’t been over to see it yet.
- HORRIBLE!!
- To top it off, PE’s sister lives there and we had her name for Christmas last year.
- The gift is still sitting in my closet.
- HORRIBLE again!!!

- I love my mom.
- She is pretty awesome.
- I appreciate everything she does for me and my family.
- I admire the strength she has demonstrated since my dad passed away.
- I think of her way more often than she knows about.
- I should call her more often.
- I should see her more often.
- We can go weeks without contact.
- We live five blocks away from one another.
- Did I mention. . . I LOVE my mom.

10 Things - December 4
- I miss my dad.
- He has been gone for over three years.
- I still get teary eyed thinking about him.
- Or when someone else talks about him.
- Or when I talk about him.
- I really wish that would go away.
- I really dislike crying.
- But I really loved my dad.
- And I really miss him.
- So for him. . .I will live with the stupid crying.

10 Things - November 20
- PE bics his head.
- I love it.
- I wish PE wore cologne more often.
- I am okay with smelling his deoderant while we lay in bed in place of that.
- I appreciate that he doesn't like to stink any more than I like to smell his stink.
- I think PE looks "cute" in his camo hunting gear.
- He hates that I say he looks "cute".
- That is why I say it.
- I hate when PE says, "Yes, dear."
- That is why he says it.

10 Things - November 6
- I earned by Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems two years ago.
- It took me nine years and one associates degree to earn it.
- While I use the knowledge gained during the classes, the degree is not necessary for my current job position.
- That bothers me sometimes.
- I don't know if I will ever attain a position where my degree is fully utilized.
- That bothers me sometimes too.
- I enjoy my current job position.
- It allows me the freedom to carpool with PE, spend Friday afternoons with Bob, and adjust my schedule to suit my family.
- That doesn't bother me at all.
- That makes the other things that bother me not matter so much.

10 Things - October 23
- I dislike holidays.
- We are not religious so that makes us a little removed from the "true meanings" of Christmas and Easter. So if you don't have the religious ties or the tie to holidays in general. . .what's the point? Candy? Cadbury Mini Eggs at Easter, Cadbury Balls for Christmas, Brach's Candy Corn for Halloween and Thanksgiving. . . While all are delicious, I don't think they are a reason to celebrate holidays.
- Although I (really it is PE and I) dislike holidays we do have some traditions. I don't mind the traditions especially if they are family traditions.
- We have a non-traditional Halloween acknowledgement (not sure it can really be called a celebration).
- I am okay with Thanksgiving so long as we can have some time at home and it isn't spent rushing around everywhere. Last year we even had a mini Thanksgiving the first part of December and I enjoyed prepping for that especially since it was only PE, the kids, me, and Nana. This post explains why that is best.
- Christmas . . . uggg. . . I think it is great to give gifts and not expect anything in return and I adore our family tradition of Christmas Eve pajamas and Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments.
- Holiday decorating is for the birds but I participate in some of it because the kids like it. I might be more inclined to seasonal decorating partly because I am lazy--four seasons = four changes in decor.
- Antisocial and holiday (Halloween, Christmas, Fourth of July, etc.) parties don't mix. PE and I are both antisocial and it seems to be getting worse.
- I could possibly get more excited about National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day or National Bundt Cake Day than I do about the more traditional holidays.
- You can read more about my holiday issues in this post from last year.

New Feature -- 10 Things - October 9
This new feature will be bi-weekly on Saturdays. The 10 Things will more often than not have a theme and will give you glimpses into my world/crazy mind. (You really don't want any more than a glimpse at a time I promise.)
- Thanks to our respective coworkers PE and I were set up on a blind date.
- They tried to get us together six months earlier.
- I was told he was my "knight in shining armor."
- Cooking W. was ready to welcome him into the family after my retelling of the first date.
- I broke up with PE once.
- It lasted about a week.
- He got drunk and grabbed a girl's butt during that time.
- We both had no intention of getting married when it all began.
- That lasted less than six months.
- My dad told us he would kick both out asses if it didn't work out.
